Annual health screenings are quite popular among corporations where the loss of even a single employee, often due to uneccessary illness, may make a negative impact on production and morale. Health insurance rarely covers annual preventative screening (highly recommended after age 35) and your doctor’s office is often more costly and inconvenient. We offer the convenience of on-site collection and our personal evaluation and explanation of results at a considerable group discount. These consist of a blood pressure and a finger stick cholesterol, but can be customized to include most anything. NOTE: Please contact us for both health and drug screen pricing as this varies with the number of clients, location, tests, sample type and methodology of testing requested. Although our instruments and methodology offer QA than will hold up to even the most scrutinizing authority, our competitive fees consistently fall in the middle of the road. Customized screenings to include lipid profiles, glucose and HGB A1C's, pulmonary functions (primarily for smokers), urinalysis, EKG's, dexa scans (bone density) and vascular ultrasounds are rountinely constructed. All test results are your property and may only be released to your doctor with your authorization at which time they become public record via the Medical Information Bureau (and possible inquiring insurance companies). For this very reason, this screening process is a key benefit for running tests outside the usual health care lines. We have helped numerous clients improve their test results and subsequently apply (or reapply) and gain acceptance for health, life and disability insurance. More importantly, clients often vastly improve their overall health and risk for cardiovascular disease. Lipid profiles consists of blood total cholesterol, triglyceride and HDL levels as well as the breakdown (calculated values) of LDL and VLDL cholesterol. Cardiac risk is then calculated from this data. We distribute literature clearly explaining the various blood parameters and ranges for their sex. Our literature, which is regulary updated to stay current with scientific progress, also includes healthy dietary and fitness suggestions to help improve those aforementioned levels. Our staff will be more than happy to answer your client's questions to the best of our knowledge. Deferment is sometimes necessary for a short period to allow us to research questions we may not be confident answering with a high level of accuracy at that time. Be aware heredity play a major role in the production and metabolism of lipids as well as risk factors for other genetic disorders. Health questions may be directed to your knowldge of your immediate family's health history to determne if a genetic disposition may exist. If desired, we will run any number of tests we both agree upon after consultation such as a blood sugar (glucose and /or HA1C), CBC (includes red and white blood cell count and differential, HGB (hemoglobin - iron storage), or thyroid functions. DRUG SCREENING BIOSTAT regularly performs pre-employment, random, pre-marital and "probable cause" drug screening. Collection can be done at our office, as well as on your site, while maintaining integrity and chain of custody of samples. Screens are normally performed on blood, urine and oral fluid/saliva. In extraordinary circumstances, i.e. medico-legal cases or for suspected poisoning, hair or vitreous humor can also be analyzed.
